[…] this need for extroversion also informed the period that was most open to fantastical inspirations, the phase of ‘cosmic idealism’, in which Prampolini, under the spell of Surrealism, created a new universe of images, which prefigured the imminent conquest of cosmic space.
At that time, around 1930, the artist used the data and information afforded by science and technology and organised them like science fiction, creating a kind of “fantastical painting” that combined the love of adventure and the unknown with the urge to prefigure new worlds [and new dimensions] of a metaphysical and metapsychic nature.
