Mixed lot (2 pieces), Afghanistan: 2 necklaces made of silver, one with a mermaid pendant, the other with coral.
1: A necklace with a large teardrop-shaped pendant made of silver embossed with a woman with a fishtail, a kind of mermaid. With spherical bells dangling underneath and on the chain. With a hook-and-eye clasp. Length: c. 11 cm; width: 7 cm (the pendant); length: c. 37 cm (the chain in total).
2: A necklace made of silver with a triangular box-shaped pendant hanging below decorated with small filigree spheres, lozenges and set with three red corals and one blue glass stone. A crescent-shaped pendant and a bell-shaped pendant with round decorative plates hang from this pendant. The chain of this item is an unusually fine piece of craftsmanship, with many pieces of pierced red coral hung from it. Length: c. 45 cm (in total).
