The Meo belong to the mountain tribes in Northern Thailand. They settle in cross-border villages from Thailand to northern Laos and northern Vietnam to south west China – in this settlement area they are also called Hmong or Miao. The present, five-part, heavy choker is made of very high quality silver (English coin silver). Each one of the five, fully cast silver bracelets displays typical, engraved ‘bird head ends’ and all five are, in the upper third, soldered together as one piece, with a common hook-and-eye closure. All five parts are unadorned, only the smallest bracelet displays an engraved inscription with Chinese characters. With traces of use and no damage. Dimensions: 16.5 cm x 17 cm.
