Designed in 1914, executed by Johann Backhausen & Söhne, Vienna, mottled wool, hand-knotted, restorations, length 380 x 300 cm, (B).
The Primavesi country house in Winkelsdorf was built in 1913/14 based on drawings by Josef Hoffmann and became famous for its artists’ parties. Gustav Klimt, Josef Hoffmann, Anton Hanak, Kolo Moser and Dagobert Peche, to name just a few, were welcome guests, as many family photographs demonstrate. Provenance: Primavesi family.
