China, c. 43 x 56 cm, 17th century, textiles from the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) are extremely rare, in this fragment the ethnic cloudscape with well-preserved colours is still present, to the delight of any collector, naturally made of silk with pressed golden wire on the cloud contours, which are, however, already entirely oxidised, sewn on brown linen fabric and mounted on a wooden frame.
