1972 Moretti 128 (no reserve)
Rare Italian limited series coupe
In Turin in the late 60s, Moretti designed and produced a limited series, mostly consisting of coupes which were mechanically based on the Fiat. At the Geneva Motor Show, Moretti displayed the 128 cars based on the Fiat with the same name. Dany Brawand had designed a rectilinear body that was met with much acclaim. These sleek coupes were built until 1974, and even had an optional Targa top.
The present coupe is also equipped with the gracile chrome bumpers. In the sum of its features, the well-preserved faux leather and the roaring sound from the exhaust system brings a piece of Italy from the early 70s back onto the street. The aluminum rims, typical for its time, with 165/70 R 13 form wide-base tires, were a must back then on a sporty Fiat and are the icing on the cake. The Moretti was recently painted in Bella Italia so the physical appearance fits. Mechanically, there are no illusions about the fact that it salutes Mama Fiat. The italophile hunter has found their sports coupe in the Moretti, in an upscale suit that’s nonetheless easy to maintain.
