spherical cover with sleeping amoretti, wearing orange and turquoise hairbands, one holds a laurel stem in her right hand, beneath which light purple fabric festoon, fine and wide gilt rims, waves and fluting with gilt rims, octagonal body, movement with ‘bronze dore’ frame, black Arabic numerals and hands on a white clock face, to the left, medallion with the portrait of Maria Theresa as dowager queen, to the right, her daughter, Marie Antoinette, to the reverse, glazed cover, between them gilt-accented fluting with light purple bands, light turquoise acanthus leaves and rosettes, to the left and right underside, lions’ heads as handles, encompassed by green laurel festoons hanging from gilt knobs, lower body with purple fluting, gilt rims, green leaves and light blue border of flowers, square stepped base with gilt rims, porcelain, height 35.5 cm, some restoration, functioning, Meissen, underglaze blue sword mark 2nd half of 19th cent., model by Michel Victor Acier, circa 1772 (Ru)
