beechwood; the seat and back surfaces upholstered with red velvet; covers not original, partly torn; signs of age and use; height 66 cm, depth 47 cm, width 58.5, height of seat 34 cm. Houses no. 49-52 in the Werkbundsiedlung in Vienna are by Adolf Loos and his closest assistant and biographer Heinrich Kulka. The present chairs were temporarily used in the living room of the mezzanine of house no. 49, the interiors of which Heinrich Kulka decorated with furniture based on his own designs. (MP)
