the description of the object reads: “bowl: 24 gnarls (...), handles: 3 parts”. These details match the present object precisely.
W. Neuwirth, Wiener Gold- und Silberschmiede und ihre Punzen 1867-1922, Vienna 1977, p. 281, pl. 80: here Dagobert Peche is indicated as the designer. This centrepiece also features the monogram of Josef Hoffmann (Galerie am Graben, Vienna).
