‘The light energy racing through space carries images with it. I see light as a transoptical substance of limitless image capacity’(1)
Without forfeiting creative substance, by having various mirrors industrially manufactured, Adolf Luther put the execution of his art into professional hands. The further processing of the convex-bent square mirror into a concave mirror object is based upon precise scientific findings and observations so as to utilise the light energy in a targeted manner as energetic, space-transforming power. […] Adolf ‘uther’s artistic explorations – which in many ways touched on and overlapped with the most advanced endeavours of contemporary art, but which were neither identical with nor came to be part of them – not only explored virgin artistic soil but also sharpened and changed our perception of the world. Their relevance is greater now than ever before.” (2)
