Pokrow, Protection and Intercession of the Mother of God, Epiphany of the Mother of God in the Blacherna Cathedral at Constantinople, the Mother of God protectively holding out a cloth above the assembled people, accompanied by saints, bottom right St Andrew, explaining the above appearance to his student Epiphanias; bottom centre St Romanos singing in the presence of the Patriarch and the Emperor in Constantinople’s largest church; above Christ in blessing, and two angels with the scroll bearing the inscription; the back of sheet metal, bras basma and two aureoles., 31,5 x 27 cm (P)

Покров Пресвятой Богородицы, явление Пресвятой Богородицы во Влахернском храме в Константинополе, Богородица распростерла свой омофор над народом, в сопровождении святых: справа внизу Андрей, Христа ради юродивый, который объясняет смысл происходящего своему ученику Епифанию. В центре внизу святой Роман Сладкопевец поёт песнь в присутствии патриарха и императора в большом храме в Константинополе. Вверху – благословляющий Христос и два ангела, держащие ленту с надписью. Основание – металлический лист, басма и два нимба из латуни, 31,5 x 27 см (P)
