A rare Javanese shadow puppet figure of the type ‘Wayang kelitik’ (also called ‘Wayang klitik’). For a more detailed explanation see cat. no. 196. The present ‘Wayang kelitik’ figure represents a warrior or a high-ranking follower of a ruler. The figure shows good, old, usage patina and small, age-related damage: the nose and the lower strut have been added, the dagger handle is missing, breaks on both shoulders and on the hips have been repaired (original repairs, glued). H: c. 52 cm. Between c. 1900 and the first third of the 20th century. (ME)
