A variety made and worn by the Tanghul Naga. The Tanghul Naga live on both sides of the border between India (Manipur state) and Burma (the Somra Tanghul hills). This type of bangle is individually executed in yellow cast-alloy (brass) using ‘waste mould’ casting. Wide bangles with a middle ridge. Just before the bangle’s open end, the width flares and then shrinks to an elegant conical end on the outside of which, and just before the flare, decorative engravings have been made of dotted lines, spirals and jags. W: 5.8 cm and 6.3 cm; L: 10 cm and 10.5 cm (incl. the end of the projections). Between the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century. (ME)
