Caucasus: A typical sabre with a hilt ending in two transversely placed horns. 19th century.
An old sabre from the Caucasus region. With a long, elegantly curved back-blade (widening slightly towards the tip — triply chamfered on both sides). Sideways and at the back, the blade also has punched out decorative lines and small triangles. The wooden hilt is wrapped in black leather by means of green leather straps. Two horn tips transversal to the blade complete the dark pommel at the end of the hilt. L: 83 cm. 19th century. (ME)
