West Turkestan, c. 302 x 163 cm, mid-19th century, the background of the present carpet displays an ornament called Kepse gul, with alternating colours arranged diagonally from right to left, the light-ground long border featuring the “Turkmen wave pattern” repeat ends in a little “boat” in the upper right corner, both elems are identical, very good pile condition with only minor signs of wear.
