Oudenaarde, Netherlands, c. 317 x 244 cm, mid-18th century. “The wild boar hunt”, silk and wool tapestry in complete condition, the artistic execution in this tapestry achieves a monumental perspective a result of the animal scene in the foreground, the hunters, beaters and the edge of the woods appear to be secondary and are offset to the back, this piece is in good overall condition, only minimal repairs and an isolated horizontal slit, galloon overall replaced, backed with fabric on the reverse, the tapestry is very dusty and should be professionally cleaned.
