Made in the Italian Renaissance style to a very high standard in the late 19th century. Made partly in ebony and ebonised pearwood veneer, lavishly decorated with ornamental and figural marquetry in ivory, with decorated mounts and two lateral handles, two doors, a tabernacle-shaped interior with one door and twelve drawers and three further interior drawers. 44 x 51.5x 33 cm. Some ageing, with parts loose or missing. The ivory is subject to endangered species legislation. (PZ)
