1: A typical armband of a Nepalese archer. Made out of wood, coloured black. With an incised, longer protective plate, which shielded the arm of the shooter against the rebounding bowstring. Carved with zig-zag and circular-dot decoration in relief. One old break (glued). L: c. 13 cm; DM: 10.5 cm x 9 cm (on the outside), 5 cm x 6 cm (on the inside).
2: A relatively large and heavy lime tin for the practise of betel chewing; with lid and double hook closure above. From Sumatra (Indonesia). Both sides cast of brass, and with partial silver coating as decoration. A central rosette on both sides, as well as two semi-circular decorative bands on each side, are of silver. Everything is engraved with floral and leaf-tendril decoration. One small break at the bottom. Dimensions: 12 cm x 9.5 cm, 5 cm thick.
Both objects display a good, old usage patina.
