Rustic cabinet,
Known as a Gmundner Polsterkasten, Upper Austrian Salzkammergut, last quarter of the 18th century. Made in pine, painted dark green, with finely painted motifs of the hearts of Jesus and Mary, the Eye of God, floral panels and four soldiers standing to attention, dated 1783. With two doors and two interior drawers with secret compartments. 189 x 150 x 63 cm. Some ageing and evidence of restoration, with cornice and mouldings replaced, parts loose and missing. (PZ)
