W 56, former no. 31, model by J. J. Kändler November 1740, after an oil painting by Balthasar Denner 1740, today “Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden”, and after a pastel drawing by Rosalba Carriere (Ru)
The couple depicts the composer, court capellmeister, cembalist and flutist Johann Adolf Hasse (Hamburg 1699-1783 Venice), and his wife, the singer Faustina Hasse-Bordoni.
