Tibet, 19th century.
Gouache and gold paint on fabric. Shyama Tara, (Tibetan Dolma Jangu), the protectress of all living beings, sits on a lotus throne surrounded by a rainbow aureole, her right foot resting on a flower. Two lotus flowers grow out of her hands in the gestures of granting wishes and aspersion with holy water. She is dressed in Indian fashion with a dhoti and shawl and wears the jewellery of a bodhisattva. In the sky Buddha Amitabha, accompanied by Atisha and a monk. Damaged. 33.5 x 28 cm.
Also: A thangka of Tsongkhapa on the lion throne with 100 of his emanations, Tibet, 19th/first half of the 20th century, damaged, 116 x 81 cm.
A thangka of the three-headed and four-armed Amoghapasha with Tibetan inscription, Tibet, early 20th century, damaged, 50 x 31 cm.
A fragment of a thangka, probably depicting an abbot of the Taklung monastery. Damaged. Approx. 21 x 13 cm (BA)
