„Castellani‘s work, in part for the purity of its structures, its rigouruly non figurative nature (...) could be included among that of the Concrete artists (...) but, actually, it is diffirent, thanks to the presence of what we might call a new dimension, for indeed, what we have here is an investigation of dimension - that is, an expansion into the third dimension of the canvas. Once again, one may speak in terms of chiaroscuro effects, for the formation of lighter and darker areas, for the formation of introflexed points where the spatial quality is made negative (...) and for the formation of „positive“ points where the extroflexion takes the luminous element of a surface to its height, creating by means of the angle of the light, curious and ambiguous perspective effects“
