VEB Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen, Pariser Ausrufer; With the increased presence of scenes of middle-class life in Meissen porcelain figures, vendor figures started to increase in size after 1745, with J. J. Kändler's models influenced by the engravings by Count Caylus based on drawings of the architect and sculptor Bouchardon. The “Cris de Paris” represent various types of 18th century street vendors offering their wares. After 1753, Kändler and Peter Reinicke began to produce smaller more delicate vendors, on the order of the Paris porcelain retailer Huet who included detailed hand-coloured sketches. These can still be found in the Manufactory's archive today.
