Splendid centre table,
Influenced by the Italian Empire style, signed PIACENTINI MARCELLO (Rome 1881-1960), produced circa 1935/40, with maker’s label on the underside of the top "AMBROGIO SCHIATTI MAILAND" as well as a fragment of a postcard with signature and designation “Roma 1938”. A rectangular form, on a walnut-veneered base with greyhounds in iron casting, the top with red marbled glass inlay. Ca. 76.5 x 226 x 92 cm. Some ageing, wear and evidence of repair. (MIN/PZ)
