Italian chest of drawers,
In the style of Maggiolini, made in the 2nd half of the 19th century. Made in softwood, on tapering square cut legs, with rosewood, tulipwood and maple veneer, a polished finish, with 3 drawers, the upper drawer with rich marquetry in the form of fabulous creatures as well as flowers, the lower 2 drawers being "sans traverse" – and with a mythological scene within an oval reserve, the sides with similar continuous marquetry, the top with crossbanded veneer. Ca. 90.5 x 125.5 x 60 cm. In restored condition. (DOC)
