Probably Baltic region or Russian, circa 1810/15. Mahogany-veneered beechwood seats, on carved and partly gold-painted paw feet, the armrests in the form of swans, rendered fully in the round, with later seat upholstery, the backrests with marquetry ornament in maple, also with masks in the Egyptian taste. The group comprises: 1 bench, 2 armchairs with upholstered backrests, 6 chairs with backrails in the form of arrows. Some ageing and wear, heavily repainted, with small losses. (MIN/PZ)
