Guild coffer, in Renaissance revival style,
An eight-sided coffer in walnut from the 19th century, with 17th century carved applications in the Mannerist style. The coffer is set on a moulded plinth with flame mouldings, and has canted angles with double columns and niches, lavishly moulded panels with dark stained surfaces, these with 17th century applications in the form of fabulous creatures and grotesque masks and winged angel heads, with black and white ivory applications in a geometric pattern. The plinth drawer bears a label on the inside reading: “Dies Ladt hat Thobias Janner von Steyr gemacht bey Maister Hans Haltinger Ihm Jahr 1664”; with lateral handles and a domed removable lid with sliding top.
