Provenance: Auction Dorotheum, Vienna, 18.09.1973, lot 119; Private German collection. The artist Wilhelm Steinfeld, who died young, was a pupil at the Vienna Academy from 1829 to 1834 where he was taught by his father Franz Steinfeld, amongst others.
