“Captured” table lamp,
designed by Michael Anastassiades in 2012 for J. & L. Lobmeyr, Vienna, metal construction, a cut crystal glass sphere and two hemispheres, height 54.5 cm, 23 x 23 cm. (DR) Models from the preliminary series. Exhibited in: Vienna Design Week, J. & L. Lobmeyr, September 2012. Light is fractured in crystal. The “Captured” lamps capture the natural interplay of these two elements. A metal structure that is both minimal and robust, keeps these delicately worked glass parts by Lobmeyr in position. The crystal ball, cut in various patterns, encloses the light source and fractures the light. Two differently sized hemispheres suggest further orbits.
