Josef Lauer
was a painter of flowers and still lifes and studied at the Vienna Academy under Joseph Mössmer, Franz Steinfeld and Sebastian Wegmayr. His still lifes are rooted in the Biedermeier tradition yet often lightened with the addition of birds and butterflies. His works can be seen in the Belvedere and elsewhere.
