Maggiotto in Venice. In 1840 he was made a Professor at the Academy in Venice. He purchased the Palazzo Giustiniani where he led the life of a painter prince. His contemporaries called Schiavoni “Il pittore delle grazie”, a reference to his graceful and elegant portraits of women in the Renaissance style.
