The painting is also listed and reproduced in / Il dipinto è pubblicato e riprodotto da: Paola Rossi, Jacopo Tintoretto, vol. 1 / volume primo, Ritratti, Alfieri, p. 154: opera giovanile di Domenico Tintoretto, vicinissima al Ritratto di giovane gentiluomo, 1585 della Pinacoteca di Kassel e a quello di gentiluomo con Crocifisso (Duca di Sutherland di Mertoun) del 1589 e al Ritratto di scultore (Alte Pinakothek, Munich). Paola Rossi compares the present portrait to similar portraits by Jacopo Tintoretto in Kassel, Munich, and Mertoun (see the Italian text). Exposition: Republic of S.
