Southwest Caucasus, c. 221 x 166 cm, about 1870, rare green-ground Kazak with red polygons and archaic rectangular cartouches, very beautiful white main border, which can only be found in early Caucasian carpets and has not been fully deciphered to this day, an almost identical specimen had been published in Eberhart Herrmann, “Seltene Orientteppiche”, vol. V; both finishes are complete and original, mostly full pile, only the lower third shows traces of usage with a few old repairs, corroded brown.
