There is a lithograph of this watercolour which was published within the series "Wiens Plätze und Umgebungen" in 1832. Rudolf von Alt provided the model in watercolour and his father transferred them into lithographs for this series which comprises 12 sheets. Five watercolours are known today; they show a particular precision in detail and a formal compactness (From: Exh. Cat. Albertina, Rudolf von Alt 1812-1905, Vienna 2005, p. 95). The present watercolour may be one of the watercolour models mentioned above.
