A set of 4 Russian armchairs,
modified Neo-Classical form, c. 1900, mahogany veneered hardwood frames with brass fluting on all sides, cross-shaped stretchers, rests slightly curved inwards and with elliptical rib decoration, brass applications in the form of rays, leather seats (partly torn and heavily worn), signs of age and use, small parts missing. This model is based on the furniture from the so-called lantern room in the former summer residence of the Russian czars in Pavlovsk.
