A rare Mbikao Mask, Kamoro people,
West Papua. Barkcloth

This mask is part of a small collection, found in situ by drs Knol, the other mask is now in the Barbier Muller museum, inventory nr. 4271.
These are spiritmasks, the white lime indicates
a spirit reference. The mask has strings of coix seeds, like tears coming from the eyes.
