carved lime wood, patinated; woodworm partly sealed and covered with reddish-brown colour fields; traces of use, minor chipping; inscribed F. Barwig on the back of the base; height 40.5 cm. (MP)
Dr Markus Fellinger (Österreichische Galerie Belvedere) has examined the present “Seated Panther” and confirmed it as an authentic work by the artist.
