The present porcelain figures are from the Collection of Kammersängerin Prof. Renate Holm. Renate Holm was born in Berlin, became famous as a singer and film star in the early 1950s, and made her debut at the Volksoper in Vienna in 1957. Reviews in the press called her the “Adele of the century.” She worked at Vienna’s State Opera with Herbert von Karajan in 1960, starting an international career as an opera singer. The proceeds of the auction will be donated for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
