porcelain, of cylindrical form, the body with gilt inside rim, the exterior with narrow and wide gilt edging, gilt and dark red painted acanthus leaves and vines on a white ground, the reserve with polychrome painted chateau and park, pond with bridge, small building and wild ducks, in the foreground and elegant stroller, the underside with title, the angular handle heightened with gilt and with leaf- and console terminals, height: 6 cm, gilding with minimal scuffing, Ø 13,2 cm, the underside with gilt edging;

Manfred Matzka, Verein Kammermusikfestival Schloss Laudon; The first building of Chateau Hadersdorf (Torff) dating to the 12th cent. was subsequently acquired by the Dukes of Austria and in 1460 was given as a wedding present by Emperor Friedrich III to his wife Eleonore of Portugal. Having been destroyed by the Turks in 1529, the chateau passed into Imperial ownership. In 1776, following a series of military victories, it was acquired by Field Marshal Gideon von Laudon, who furnished his residence with various art, including the most significant art-historical relic, the library containing the best-preserved example of en grisaille painting north of the Alps. The lavishly furnished library has a ceiling combining military- and freemason symbology. The fresco hall painted by the renowned nature painter Bergl in ca. 1770 was not part of the original decoration but was transferred there from Schloss Donaudorf in 1963.
