Upper Austria, circa 1760, the Virgin standing on a crescent moon above the globe with a serpent, her cloak with its vividly rendered folds draped around her body, finely carved wood, polychrome-painted, with silvering and gilding, height 63 cm, metal aureole and sceptre, full height with base and aureole approx. 80 cm, age damage and losses to paint, one tip of the crescent moon and 2 fingers missing, (MC)
Certificate from Heinrich Decker dated 1972 available. Decker attributes the Immaculata to Franz Joseph Holzinger and his brother, Hans Georg Holzinger.
