Northwest Persia (Iran), c. 312 x 142 cm, late 19th century, coffered central field with nine hooked octagons, flanked by a variety of motifs including vases, stars, and diverse stylised animals as well as two human figures in the second upper panel, extremely rare is the large, kilim-like, white main border, manufactured with cotton wefts and partially with cochineal dyed wool, partly low pile, heavily corroded brown.
