Tekke Germech,
West Turkestan, c. 30 x 84 cm, about 1890, weavings such as the present one, with pek-vesh field pattern, would be hung across the yurt entrance in order to keep house animals from entering; whilst most such items have been worn out by frequent use and are rare to find, the present piece is still in excellent condition, with large kilim finish.
