South Turkestan, c. 91 x 158 cm, mid-19th century, large knotted transport or storage bag with ikat velvet striped pattern of the Ersari tribes, with beautiful, naturalistically executed tree elem; this piece has been heavily used, with low pile and reduced finishes, the original side edges have survived.
