Karadashli Mafrash,
West Turkestan, c. 39 x 79 cm, about 1860, Karadashlis belong to the large “Yomut family” and any attempt at an exact attribution remains speculative, the present item’s colour, slightly rigid design with simplified primary motifs and the typical form of the Karadashli gul suggest its attribution to this group; low pile with consistently Sy 1 knotting, both finishes with kilim stitched on the back, with original side edges.
