Following the turbulent licensee change, the first two independent Vespa models from Augsburg production were introduced in 1956. While the GS was similar to what its Italian counterpart looked like, The T/2, T stood for Touren, was a German one-of-a-kind. Mostly identical to the GS, it was also rolling on 10-inch wheels, however, the engine was still the same as in the preceded T/1, the German „Struzzo“. The lack in power compared to the GS, was made up for with a wider range of colors, while the GS was only available in silver.
The T/2 was only built for two years, until it was succeeded by the T/3. All in all some 6,000 examples were built, which is rather homoeopathic compared to the output of Italian production. Thus it is among the rarest in most coveted models today.
This German Messerschmitt-Vespa 150 T/2 has survived more than six decades without ever having been fully restored. While the side panels have been repainted, the rest remains largely untouched and delights with amazing patina, which makes this rare Vespa even more exceptional.
Chassis: VD1T*1648*, Motor: VD2M*1944*, Österreichische Einzelgenehmigung & Deutscher Fahrzeugbrief (Austrian papers & German Fahrzeugbrief)
