The Emperor of Mexico’s personal neck decoration of the Order of the Golden Fleece with brilliants, in so-called “Prinzengröße”. This reduced size was frequently the size of choice for its wearability. After the death of Emperor Max of Mexico, this personal neck decoration was given to his parents, Archduke Francis Charles and Archduchess Sophie. They in turn gave it to Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria, as a memento of his uncle.
