silver, lapis lazuli, labradorite; on the back at bottom marked WW and with dog’s head silver purity hallmark (800); size: 3.7 x 2.8 cm. (MP)
Provenance:
Formerly owned by Emilie Flöge. The brooch was donated to Mrs Helene Wanke, the grandmother of the consignor, in recognition of her services at the Flöge fashion salon. Since then, the brooch has been continuously in private ownership in Vienna.
Literature:
MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, Wiener Werkstätte Archive, sample book, G 176. There with the annotation ‘F Waerndorfer’ and mention of the precise date.
