„In my works there is no such thing as the representation of movement as in Futurism. Nor is there any real movement as in the so-called kinetic art. Any movement or change in my works is the product of the viewer’s mind. Much unlike what I used to think, this phenomenon can be explained only in part with gestalt psychology. This is because the viewer imagines what is missing – which is, above all, movement. However, he also adds and subtracts other elements to and from the artwork, as if he were an executor of images and my work a mere means to it.“
