Today, his watercolours – strictly speaking gouaches, painted on primed paper with tempera colours – are, for all intents and purposes, full paintings, and often reach the size of his oil works. He then uses paper on chipboard.
Brauer’s catalogue raisonné does not have the same attention to detail as Hundertwasser’s and has always been treated more summarily by the artist. For most of his works he only wrote down the year and the title, everything else was added later. Some of the data that could no longer be ascertained remained undetermined, and some of the measurements were estimated by the artist.
