Asmalyks were always made in pairs and mostly characterised by a white ground, with pointed top, and were used as flank decoration for the bridal camel. Reference pieces with a wedding caravan are especially sought-after among Turkmen collectors. With several damaged areas and heavily trimmed pile. (VP)
